davemarsden132 Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 Hi All, My game today felt abit jittery so i thought id check out the router and see if i could see what was going on. Only thing i could find was my gaming PC in traffic prio with the red dots down packets and up packets. The red dots where not perm on whilst the game was running. It was coming on and off constantly. Would / Could this be the cause and why would it be doing this? I have gaming PC setup as static IP and also as a console.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 26, 2021 Administrators Posted September 26, 2021 How was Traffic Prio set up, using Classified Games, manually added as console or using manual ports?
davemarsden132 Posted September 26, 2021 Author Posted September 26, 2021 Added as console! Normally works fine, might reboot router!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 26, 2021 Administrators Posted September 26, 2021 Give it a reboot and see if it works. What game are you playing at the time when this happens? Does it occur with all games?
davemarsden132 Posted September 28, 2021 Author Posted September 28, 2021 Nope didnt work, its since i went from ONT - BT - XR700 to ONT - XR800
davemarsden132 Posted September 28, 2021 Author Posted September 28, 2021 The traffic prio worked sorry but the jittering and packet loss symbols didnt stop is what i mean sorry on Warzone
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 28, 2021 Administrators Posted September 28, 2021 Understood, what are the rest of your QoS settings?
davemarsden132 Posted September 28, 2021 Author Posted September 28, 2021 Anti-Buffer - Always DOWN - 70% Up - 70% Goodput ticked Bandwith allo - share excess everything split to 3% Traffic Prio - PC set as Games Console All Devices UNTICKED
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 28, 2021 Administrators Posted September 28, 2021 What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to? What firmware version are you on currently?
davemarsden132 Posted September 29, 2021 Author Posted September 29, 2021 The XR700 is connected to BTs huawawi ONT direct. Latest firmware
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 29, 2021 Administrators Posted September 29, 2021 Could you disable IPv6 please, then see if it is more consistent?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 29, 2021 Administrators Posted September 29, 2021 Give it a reboot from the interface and that should go away, wait 2 minutes before connecting after the reboot
davemarsden132 Posted September 30, 2021 Author Posted September 30, 2021 Thanks again Fraser ill try this tonight.
davemarsden132 Posted October 2, 2021 Author Posted October 2, 2021 Deleting IPv6 didnt work, still getting packet loss in game. This is so annoying haha, the Shoot First Die First has totally gone... Im shreading everyone, except when my game freezes for a second or so! If i can sort that out then boom haha
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2, 2021 Administrators Posted October 2, 2021 Can you run a Connection Benchmark test please and also provide a screenshot of the System Information page? Does the ping on the Geo-Filter rise when this happens?
davemarsden132 Posted October 2, 2021 Author Posted October 2, 2021 I'm on latest software not 3.0 software
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2, 2021 Administrators Posted October 2, 2021 Forget the benchmark test then, what about Sys info and ping rise on Geo?
davemarsden132 Posted October 3, 2021 Author Posted October 3, 2021 I downloaded 3.0 to make it easier as i had no idea what Sys info is haha! I have changed my MTU value, this is set at 1436 - this was because this is the value that worked fine when i did that ping google.co.uk -r -l or what ever the code is in CMD to find what doesn't loose packets if that makes sense!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 3, 2021 Administrators Posted October 3, 2021 That looks very good, low base ping, no inherent packet loss. Can you take a picture of the System Information page please? Want to see if any packet loss is showing there
