Lucid Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 I can’t seem to get port forwarding to work , I get open NAT type on my normal router , but when I try on my r2 it doesn’t work and I have the latest firmware installed. Also my geo filter doesn’t seem to be working correctly, servers are gone and some disappear.
Netduma Liam Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 Welcome to the forum! What's the make and model of your modem? The easiest way to do this would probably be to put the R2's WAN IP (Found in System Information) in the modem's DMZ. Also then make sure this IP is reserved for the R2 so you won't need to do this again in future. With Geo-filter, you won't always see all servers constantly because it only shows active connections. While in game you'll only expect to see 1 server as that is what you will be connected to while playing.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 6, 2021 Administrators Posted May 6, 2021 You would access the modem/router the R2 is connected to then go to LAN settings and then give it the same IP address as the one from the System Information page
Lucid Posted May 6, 2021 Author Posted May 6, 2021 I did all this and its still moderate, but its open when I use my modem provided by my ISP
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 6, 2021 Administrators Posted May 6, 2021 Ah you're testing the NAT status by using the game reading? This can sometimes be incorrect, disable the Geo-Filter before you boot up the game, does it appear open then?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 6, 2021 Administrators Posted May 6, 2021 Did you disable it before the game was launched - including when the launcher hadn't been opened and not active in the system tray?
Lucid Posted May 6, 2021 Author Posted May 6, 2021 Yes. It works fine on my modem provided by my ISP. Maybe I set something up wrong?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 6, 2021 Administrators Posted May 6, 2021 What is your exact physical setup? Is it one modem you have or a modem > router > R2 for example?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 6, 2021 Administrators Posted May 6, 2021 Do you have devices that are still connected to the ISP router? If so connect them to the R2 and disable UPnP and the firewall on the ISP router then try again
