Hey, welcome to the forum!

You have to connect the router to an existing modem/router. If it's not plugged into anything to get internet then you're likely getting internet on the laptop as it will be connected to existing WiFi

Is the power adapter for the R2 connected directly to a wall outlet or is it connected to a power extender?

Is there a particular reason you're still using the Askey Router or is this just because the R2 keeps disconnecting? Typically you would want to replace that with the R2.

I had like like that before i upgraded to the 1 gb internet, so what I'm understanding is that I should eliminate the router from spectrum and use only the R2

Yes, so connect the R2 directly to the Ubee modem. You'll want to do this by connecting a cable to the Blue WAN port on the R2 and have the other side of this cable connect to one of the modem's LAN ports.

Last Friday i was playing COD cold war when suddenly it lagged me out or that was what I thought when I noticed the netduma had all the lights off except for the power and 5 ghz wifi, since then I reboot the wifi, factory reset and have the same issue, what it weird is that as soon I get to playing on the ps5 the netduma shuts of or what ever is going on when I'm in the laptop on the DUMAOS is ok.

Thanks for the info. Can you unplug the router from power for 24 hours please, then when you plug it in wait 2 minutes before you attempt connecting to it. This can sometimes help with an odd issue like this.
