hey i have a question,

i have read that it is recomended to do the speedtest with lan cable on speedtest.net that i have done and i setted up the speed on 450mbps or so but when i keep getting 705mbps and above when i use the conecction benchmark. So my question is should i go with the 705mbps or the speeds that speedtest.net provides me?

My biggest concern are the pingspikes ive read that the download speeds arent so important for smooth gaming experience if im correct? so im happy with the 705mbps. i struggle to get the spikes down ive spend many hours im getting mostly frustrated by that😓

my isp should provide me 1000mbps 50mbps for upload on speedtest.net with the qos on or off im getting 475 but with the connection benchmark test around 700mbps. I only keep the playstation 5 connected with lan cable and 5 other devices all with wifi on the R2. im doing the testing with my chromebook capable of speeds to 1gbps connected the lan cable with a gigabit usb-c lan port adapter. the lan cable is a cat5e on the chromebook. i have 2 cat8 sftp conneted 1 from my isp modem to the r2 router and one from the r2 router to the playstation.

Thank you for the advice. I ran into a comment of you telling someone that ping under load is how the ping should look like saturated, but what If i'm the only one in the household using the network for gaming at night when everyone is sleeping.. What should I look out for the best gaming experience hitscan etc?

What are the speeds you actually pay for/expect as there is a big discrepancy there so we should find out why that is

I did some investigation with the helpdesk of my isp company and i can say that today they came over and tested the  isp modem speeds it was all good it has hit the 1000mbps on download and 50mbps on upload that what i pay for. he also tested the speed of the netduma router and its capped for around 500mbps on download. can you please help me to fix this? there is clearly something going on..

also to mention: with qos on and bandwith allocation on default videos such as youtube are freezing on any device that is connected also when (never) is selected. When Qos is disabled everything works fine again.

with the auto setup speed test on the duma os it will get around 700mbps on download and 50mbps on upload

at speedtest.net ill get around 500mbps on download

weird

Is this with the modem in bridge mode or is it not in bridge mode with the R2 IP in the DMZ? Could you perhaps send an updated screenshot of your QoS settings if you've changed them at all?

Could you please go to device manager and in the options, switch to table view. Could you then send us a screenshot of the top table please?

In Bandwidth Allocation, do you have 'Share Excess' enabled? If you click 'Reset distribution' instead of fully disabling QoS, do the YouTube videos then buffer OK? Does this issue occur while you're gaming, or all the time?

OK great, thank you. If that occurs again you may just need to reset distribution, I think you'll notice it after making changes to Bandwidth Allocation.

So that table looks fine, are there any devices connected to the Arris or is it just the R2?

Ive kept it to a minimum, The Arris is connected to the R2 with a cat8 cable and the Ps5 to the R2. And a couple of other devices with WiFi on the R2.

Now on the main issue.. What to do next?

To point the problem out again.. So my isp speeds what i pay for is 1gbps on download 50mbps on upload. The Arris delivers that after tests. The R2 is capped around 700mbps @Netduma Fraser @Netduma Liam
