Versace
Hello, I have an xr1000 router. I also have my own dedicated server in the server room (my home country) on which OpenVPN is running. I am trying to connect my router to my VPN network but I cannot find the "VPN Client" option on my router. I need to connect to my VPN via a router so that my entire home WiFi network from the router passes through my VPN to watch Netfix, etc .. in my native language. I am asking for tips or help. Thank you.
Netduma Liam
Welcome to the forum! What firmware version are you currently running? You can go to Hybrid VPN -> Enable VPN -> Advanced and enter your OVPN configuration files here.
Versace
Hi, Thank you for your interest. The firmware version is: XR1000 1.0.0.52_1.0.38. DumaOS Version 3.0.187 - Unfortunately, where you indicated: it is not possible to connect to external OpenVPN (as a client).
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 22, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 22, 2021 Hey, welcome to the forum! Unfortunately the XR1000 does not have our HybridVPN or any other VPN client feature available for you to use, only the VPN service feature you see there. Versace
Thank you for your answer. - now I am sure that the router does not support connection to an external VPN network. PS. It's a pity that such an expensive and good router does not have the functionality that is in cheaper routers and even free router operating systems. Netduma Liam
We appreciate the feedback, ultimately it's Netgear's decision as to what features are implemented on their routers, but I can understand where you're coming from.
