XR500 Anti-Bufferbloat not working properly

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I recently purchased a XR500 as I wanted to adress my suboptimal bufferbloat issues I had. Sadly, as of right now, it barely (if at any) changed with the XR500.

My setup:

ISP - A1 Austria VSDL2

A1 Wlan Box (DSL Modem/Router Combo) Zyxel 3101DX - I put it in bridge modus manually. I also tried my even older VV2200, which I couldnt set to bridge modus as it's locked from the provider.

XR500

Lan to my device

I tried every basically every setting, from 95% to 5%. I barely have any changes, while also even having small package losses when I am uploading. I had the same on my A1 Wlan box (which was the reason for the purchase beforehand)

I added some pictures.

I would appreciate help as I honestly want to keep the router, but as of right now I can use the provider combo and get almost the same results. I tested both the Zyxel 3101 and the VV2200  and I am quite certain they dont have a puma 6/7.

My English isn't that great, so be patient with me.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Don't use Connection Benchmark for the moment as we are still making improvements to that.

Can you provide the full screenshot of Ping Plotter please?

I assume ALL devices are connected to the XR?

Your English is great, don't worry!

Right now only my PC is connected to the XR, for testing purposes. But yes, everything will be connected to the XR.

This is 70/70 settings (results are always quite the same tho)

First picture is while downloading (which seems reasonable) What interval should I be using for testing btw?

Second picture is upload with packet loss.

I used speedtest.net

Anti-Bufferbloat deactivated looks like this.

My wife played guild wars 2 (and watching netflix on the second screen) while I was watching youtube on my phone. Did the retest on my PC and everything looked exactly like the screens before. What's weird is that  if I disable Anti Bufferbloat I don't get packet loss, while with AB on, it's always at least 5%. What could the issue be? ISP connection? The Zyxel Modem? User error?
