DT1717
Working to get everything set up on the Netduma router but I am having some issues with being disconnected from matches on Fifa. Below is the log from when the issue occurred around 12.17 My current setup is with the Netduma connected to a BT Home Hub which has the wireless network disabled unfortunately there is no option to put this into modem mode. All of my devices are currently connected over the wireless network. I have tired just using the BT Home Hub without the netduma and I am not having this issue with being disconnected. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 16, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 16, 2021 Do the disconnects just happen on the matches or do other devices lose internet at the same time? How often are you seeing it occur? Are you using the Geo-Filter? If so disable Filtering Mode for the moment, does that stop the disconnects? DT1717
Just seem to happen on the matches other devices seem to be fine so for example one of the devices was running a twitch stream and this had no issue when the match disconnected. It happened for pretty much every match I played yesterday and was the same for today. I havent had any disconnections from other games like warzone. Although I have been getting some lag which is a bit weird as I have enabled the QOS feature. Currently not using the Geo-filter option was hoping to get everything up and running and working then look into some of the extra features like that. I can try adding the Netduma to the DMZ on the BT Home Hub as I have seen a few posts in the forum mentioning this.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 16, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 16, 2021 Yes please do that as the BT hub could be interfering with the packets coming from the R2 and causing the disconnect.
DT1717
Added to the DMZ and set a static IP on the Netduma but unfortunately I am having the same issues just being disconnected mid game. The rest of the game was fine no lag then just randomly disconnected and kicked signed out of my EA account. The Playstation seems to all be fine and doesn’t drop connection just seems to be my connection to EA servers for FIFA. Any other suggestions? The entires below are from the system information page under logs and seem to suggest some sort of disconnection which was at the same time I was disconnected during the game. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 16, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 16, 2021 Are you playing the game over WiFi at all? That's what the log is showing that WiFi is running into some issues.
DT1717
Yes I am playing over WiFi unfortunately the Playstation is in a different room so running a cable would be a challenge so WiFi is the only option at the moment. Is there anything I can do to further troubleshoot this issue?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 16, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 16, 2021 Are you using the WiFi in mirror mode or connecting to 2.4/5GHz manually? I assume you're using mirror mode and it may be the switching between 2.4 & 5GHz automatically that is causing it.
DT1717
I believe that feature is turned on by default so will switch it off and give it a try this evening and see if this resolves the issue.
DT1717
Changed the settings so it is no longer mirrored. Played one game while connected to the 2.4 network I didn’t get disconnected but the game was almost unplayable due to the lag. I checked a few times during the game and the signal strength was at 100% My PlayStation was the only device connected to the access point and the wireless on the BT Home Hub was off. Any other suggestions? Below is the log from when I was playing the match. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 17, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 17, 2021 Okay so now experiment with your QoS settings to see if you can get the lag under control. Are there many WiFi networks in your area?
