Ping Assist

Hi guys,

 

I have two question and hoping you can help 

1. I have set my ping assist to 5 however i am connecting to a game with 9/10 ms why is this? I have connected to get lower then 5 earlier on today hence why it is so low.

2. How can other players with much higher ping assist join the server? for example i came across a player in game 180ms.

To answer your question I will quote myself from a few days ago:

Ping Assist filters servers according to your limit yes, however, it goes off the first ping response from that server - for example:

Ping Assist limit = 30ms
Server 1 = Initial ping 29ms = Server is allowed = Follow up pings 40ms / The server has already been allowed and can not be blocked from this point. Ping naturally fluctuates so it is very hard to be 100% accurate when using the feature.

Ping Assist also does not work within your radius - everything within your radius will be allowed regardless of the ping - Ping Assist gets servers outside your radius if they're under your ping limit (mostly). The way to think of it is really it is an addon - it ASSISTS the Geo-Filter, it's not really meant to be used as a hard ping limit filter. 

In a server based game you cannot influence who joins that game either but as you have a very good ping to the server you will have the advantage.

Thank you for clearing this... I think in any other game beside call of duty this would be an advantage however the way the hit reg and tik rate work in this game it’s just luck that you will have any in game advantage
