Lorenzo Carbi
Hi, I have Virgin Media Hub 3.0 Connection is Wall -> Virgin Hub -> Duma r2 -> Pc First I went through the installation process and DumaOs and it worked for about 5mins and we lost internet. I then switched the Hub into Modem mode, I couldnt connect to the internet at all. I read elsewhere that modem mode is a bit dicey so i switched back to router mode. Now everything is connected, I can log into DumaOs and it says "there is an internet connection" but im not connected to the internet nor does the wifi work. Any ideas? (i've now put my ethernet back into my virgin hub so I have internet) Thanks
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 10, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 10, 2021 Hey, welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear you're having this issue. Give the R2 a quick reboot from the interface and see if that brings back the connection
Lorenzo Carbi
Hi Fraser I've factory reset it and also tried your suggestion, it is still not connecting
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 10, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 10, 2021 Is the V hub showing the R2 as a connected device? I have the V hub as well and should be plug and play really. Just to double check the WAN/Internet port of the R2 is connected to the V hub LAN ports? Lorenzo Carbi
It is indeed appearing as a connected device. I just tried to replug in the ethernet and it now wont let me go onto dumaos I ran diagnostics and it shows this: I'm not well versed in these things so i'm not sure how to proceed. Perhaps you know? Thanks again
Netduma Liam
Have you configured a static IP in Windows? You can check this by going to Settings -> Network and Internet -> Ethernet. Then select your network and check what it says under IP settings.
Lorenzo Carbi
This is what it says
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 11, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 11, 2021 You have set a static IP without the IP part, just the DNS - change it to Automatic and then it will work
Lorenzo Carbi
Switched to manual DHCP and it completely disconnected me from internet. plugged Ethernet onto the duma r2 and couldn't connect to the OS

Netduma Liam
If it's still not working I'd suggest going to your command line and renewing your IP address with 'ipconfig /renew'. That should then mean the R2 gives you a 192.168.77.x address.
Lorenzo Carbi
Plugged ethernet to the Duma and it gave me = Then plugged into the Virgin hub and did the same = Tried connecting to dumaos after this but still no internet and still cant connect
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 12, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 12, 2021 Set a static IP following the Control Panel section here: https://pureinfotech.com/set-static-ip-address-windows-10/ Using these details: IP - 192.168.77.2 Subnet - 255.255.255.0 Gateway - 192.168.77.1 DNS - 192.168.77.1 then see whether you can access the interface please. Lorenzo Carbi
I'm on my PC and its up and running now via Ethernet Do I need to do something different to make the wifi work? Thanks!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 12, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 12, 2021 Great to hear that! Okay so in WiFi I would recommend you disable Mirror mode, give 2.4 & 5GHz different names then apply. Then reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes before accessing and see if it appears then
Lorenzo Carbi
Ok so I've done that, i've tried to connect to the 2.4 and the 5 but both come up with this:
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 13, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 13, 2021 Are you getting any internet through ethernet? On the router run a Connection Benchmark test, does it complete successfully?

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 13, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 13, 2021 Okay disable both 2.4/5GHz WiFi and apply, reboot the router from the interface, wait 2 minutes. Then enable both, apply then reboot again from the interface, wait 2 minutes and see if the WiFi works.
Lorenzo Carbi
Success! it works! Thanks for your patience with this. One last thing, is it worth now that everything is up and running to set my virgin hub to modem mode? im not sure what the benefits are exactly but
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 13, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 13, 2021 Great to hear that, you're very welcome. You won't really get much benefit from doing that if the R2 is in the DMZ and all devices are connected to the R2. I leave mine in router mode. Lorenzo Carbi
Sadly my happiness was short lived. I went to shower, came back and its all disconnected again, wifi doesnt connect and neither does ethernet. I havent changed any settings at all since this so i have no idea why this happened Wouldnt load dumaOs either
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 13, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 13, 2021 Give the R2 a static IP on the V hub then reboot the R2 please and it should return
Lorenzo Carbi
interestingly enough the router isn't appearing on the list of devices anymore... O.o (it was appearing before) Its plugged in and everything, with the lights on the left all on. I've unplugged it and plugged it back in but its no longer appearing
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 14, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 14, 2021 Could you give the V hub a reboot and see whether the R2 appears connected again? I had this with my V hub not too long ago, appeared like all ethernet ports were dead and had to factory reset it.
