Saberous
About two to three weeks ago, I started to experience the below listed issues with my Netduma R2. At first the issue was sporadic but as time went on it became a daily issue. Websites do not load properly or at all. Netduma R2 frequently drops Internet, LAN, and Wifi connections to multiple devices. I get the following error when logging into the device’s dashboard; Error: RPC error 'ERROR_VALIDATION': Validation failed for 'ips' DUMAOS Dashboard Reboot option doesn’t seem to reboot the device. Steps taken to try resolving the issue. To confirm the issue is from the Netduma R2, I swabbed out the router. The Asus test router ran for 3 days with none of the above-mentioned issue. Verified Netduma R2 firmware version; currently running 3.0.205 Performed a few factory rests Most times I am unable to view the Netduma R2 router logs due to the dashboard error or connection drops. While trouble shooting today, I was able to get into the router with no dashboard errors as of yet. I was unable to get to a few websites today, and in the R2 logs I saw the below info at the same time I had the web page issues. According to my DUMAOS dashboard, Adblocker is disabled. Mon Mar 1 00:38:48 2021 user.info com.netdumasoftware.adblocker: Cloudsync Adblocker result 'nil','failed to sync' Mon Mar 1 00:38:48 2021 user.info com.netdumasoftware.adblocker: Cloudsync Adblocker 'skipping mirror' Mon Mar 1 00:38:48 2021 user.info com.netdumasoftware.adblocker: Cloudsync Adblocker 'HTTP sync failed' Mon Mar 1 00:38:48 2021 user.warn com.netdumasoftware.adblocker: HTTP download failed with code '404' I am unable to uninstall Adblock as it's greyed out. While typing this post my phone and tablet just dropped from Wifi. Thankfully I was logged into the R2 dashboard when it happened. Sadly, the logs in system information did not capture the drop. Current work around, power cycle Netduma R2 when issues occur.
Netduma Liam
Thanks for posting! Sorry to hear you're having these issues! Along with adblocker, could you please try disabling any other features on the R2 so we can see if these are causing the problem? Please ensure QoS is fully disabled from the three-line menu in Congestion Control.
Saberous
Error: RPC error 'ERROR_VALIDATION': Validation failed for 'ips popped up again and it took me a bit to get into the router. I have disabled Adblocker, QoS and VPN. Geo-Fliter doesn't have a disable button, but I unchecked all boxes. I did the same with Connection Benchmark. I will need a couple of days to test but I will report back my findings. Side question? I noticed that the connection benchmark tool incorrectly reports my download speed. I say incorrectly because when I run speedtest I get my ips package speeds of 450Mbps download and 23Mbps upload My Asus router also get these speeds). But the connection benchmark tool reports 200Mbps less, with qos on and off. I'm guessing I got a D rating due to my IPS poor up load speed but at least I have A's in ping lol
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 3, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 3, 2021 Let us know how you get on! We're looking at improving the speeds CB shows at the moment. The D is because it is so far underneath the speeds that you said you should be getting 1000/1000Mbps.
Saberous
Sorry for the long wait, but I haven't been able to get into the router. This error keeps popping up even after a factory reset
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 18, 2021 Administrators Share Posted March 18, 2021 What page are you seeing this on? If you click ok does it stop appearing/can you use the feature normally or does it appear immediately again?
Saberous
Sorry for the delay, works been nuts! I get the error the moment I log into the router. I am able to click on Dashboard and the Geo-Fliter and the rest of the options but when the page loads, one of the above mentioned error's is displayed. I've contacted [email protected] twice now to see if I can get a replacement because at this point something in the router is porked. Still waiting on a reply form orders. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 30, 2021 Administrators Share Posted April 30, 2021 Unpin it from the dashboard please and see if it loads correctly on the actual Geo-Filter page. We need to authorize a replacement otherwise you'll have to go through troubleshooting in emails again before they will do so. Also the better email to use is [email protected]
Saberous
How am I suppose to unpin it when I get the above errors preventing me from navigating the router ui?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 1, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 1, 2021 You should be able to click ok on the message and unpin it before it comes up again, then reboot from the interface if possible
Saberous
The above Error message stays up after clicking OK.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 1, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 1, 2021 Hold the reset button for 30 seconds, release, wait 2 minutes before accessing. Set up everything again but don't pin anything to the dashboard and see if you can use it without error
Saberous
I sent you a message. I did the factory reset like you asked. After waiting the time you stated. I tried to log back into the router. Same issue. I get a progress spin for several minutes and after it finishes I get the above mentioned errors (also see attached screen shots). Clicking OK does nothing. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 1, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 1, 2021 Thanks for the information, perhaps an issue occurred when flashing the unit originally. Go ahead and email [email protected] with a link to this topic and your order number and we'll sort you out with a replacement
