Russ_T
Hi all, I have preordered a R2, but I might have been a bit hasty. I have 950Mb FTTP, and was thinking of bridging the R2 to my router/modem and letting it manage my dhcp / firewall etc etc instead. I cannot find anywhere the specs for an R2, the manual doesn't cover it. Is an R2 going to be a bottleneck? I am going to assume so, because if the hardware spec was good you'd imagine it would be part of the sales info. In which case I shall probably sell the R2 and see what the highest spec Netgear with Duma OS does. Any links to R2 firewall throughput (often the bottleneck) or whatever would be appreciated. Thank you Russ
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 19, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 19, 2021 Hey, welcome to the forum! You can find the tech specs here: https://netduma.com/order/netduma-r2/#tab-additional_information You should be able to achieve those speeds via ethernet but it is unlikely you would achieve them via WiFi - we are currently making improvements on this as well. Russ_T
Hello, Thanks for getting back to me. There's no where that mentions anything other than the port speed that I can see? https://www.draytek.co.uk/products/comparison/router-comparison Shows Firewall and NAT Mb/sec. etc. The specs page from Netduma has very little detail at all. Thanks Russ
Netduma Liam
Hey Russ! As Fraser said, the R2 should handle that just fine over ethernet, it's just the Wi-Fi that might struggle!
