AquaTitan
Hello, Why does my R2 keep dropping the 2.4 ghz band so that nothing connects to it?
Netduma Liam
Welcome to the forum! Do you have your 2.4GHz and 5GHz settings mirrored or are you broadcasting two separate SSIDs?

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 19, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 19, 2021 Hey, welcome to the forum! Sorry to here you're having this issue. Disable Mirror mode, give 2.4/5GHz different names, then apply and reboot. Connect to 2.4GHz manually and see if it still continues to disconnect please. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 19, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 19, 2021 Instead of one WiFi network e.g. Netduma R2 there will be two, so for example Netduma R2-5G, Netduma R2-2.4G, whatever you named them. So connect to the 2.4GHz one.

AquaTitan
So we did all that but it is still disconnecting. We also seem to be having a problem with staying connected overall. It's almost like the modem and router are not communicating with each other. They both have a signal but not seeing each other, if that makes sense. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 21, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 21, 2021 Understood, thanks for the information. What is the model or your ISP modem/router? Is it a pure modem, no wifi or a modem/router w/wifi?
AquaTitan
It is a modem only. Model is Hitron E31NV2V1
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 21, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 21, 2021 Do you know how often your public IP address renews? Is it something you can call the ISP about and see if they can extend the lease? That should prevent it happening as often.
