Sindonesia Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Does the R1 need to directly connected to my ps4 and Xbox one to work? Here is what I would like to do if possible. Wall-modem-r1-nighthawk-ps4&xbox1. The nighthawk would be a access point only and would do no routing. Thanks for any help.

I have since switched it back though since both routers have gigabit LAN speeds there is no benefit for me to have it connected to anything besides the R1, however if I need to connect more devices through ethernet it seems to work fine.

abc123 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 This method will work perfectly fine, it is just a wired bridge to the main router. Since the Xbox 1 is only 10/100 you shouldn't saturate the ethernet cable to the R1.
