Quick question...

Does the R1 need to directly connected to my ps4 and Xbox one to work? Here is what I would like to do if possible. Wall-modem-r1-nighthawk-ps4&xbox1.

The nighthawk would be a access point only and would do no routing. Thanks for any help.

I actually tested this myself and it worked fine the way you listed.  I have since switched it back though since both routers have gigabit LAN speeds there is no benefit for me to have it connected to anything besides the R1, however if I need to connect more devices through ethernet it seems to work fine.

Thanks, mine just arrived today and I'm about to go home and set it up. I'm so excited for some lag free gaming tonight. I took leave for the next two days to break it in.

This method will work perfectly fine, it is just a wired bridge to the main router.  Since the Xbox 1 is only 10/100 you shouldn't saturate the ethernet cable to the R1.

Sindonesia hope you have an amazing gaming experience! Let us know how you get on please :)

You'll have more fun fiddling with it, and all the options than gaming :)

Everything is setup. I'm just installing Advanced Warfare on the second Xbox One, so my son can play with me.

The setup was pretty straight forward, thanks for the help. I also installed the latest upgrade. The interface is awesome and so easy to use.

Thanks mate, ok remember with the new version you want to enable "strict mode". Then use the snap button if you're getting booted. We will upload a video tomorrow on how to use it.
