Setting up for pc...

Ive setup my r2 in this format... ISP > R2 > Google Wifi. my xbox series x & my pc are plugged to the r2

everything functions properly haven’t had any issues. I currently have 1000 down 41 up speeds

I’m curious in regards to port forwarding lets say I set my pc as a playstation In order to see the servers in geofilter, do I have to set the ports to playstation ports or do I continue using pc ports?

Id also like some help setting up my qos & port forwarding because my ping has been higher w r2... I normally get 19-30ms ping in game & ive been 30-50ms ever since.

in qos whenever I do the auto setup it ends up taking the sliders down to 1%, is it better to prioritize ping or bandwidth?

thanks in advance for any help 🤟🏽

You would continue to use PC ports for port forwarding.

For QoS I'd suggest you first do a Connection Benchmark test and see what the results are. Then experiment with the Congestion Control percentages until you find what gets the Ping Under Load test down as close as possible to the Ping Test. We're still improving auto setup as it's too aggressive at the moment.

What is your Geo-Filter settings currently?

@Fraser13 i currently have my pc set up as playstation, filtering on, 1869 radius, 40 ping assist, strict mode and fast search... but my internet doesnt feel right at all

also how would the congestion cointrol function if  my google wifi is plugged into it... wouldnt that cause it to run differently.... pc and xbox are wired to r2

honestly nothing even pops up in the geo filter... a dedi server somewhere in europe pops up briefly and disappears

What do you mean the internet doesn't feel right? Depending on your settings it may be able to get less speed but this is to ensure that you don't experience any lag or buffering etc. Speeds such as yours would only really be useful when doing a download and you could always disable QoS temporarily when doing so. Can you provide a screenshot of your entire screen on the Geo-Filter page please?

Interesting you get the server in Germany pinging. I thought this was Xfast LAN or something pinging me. However, I uninstalled all of that. Is this a DUMA process?

I’m not too sure what youre asking me... I’m from nyc idk why a dedi server in germany is popping up for me

thats literally all that pops up and its only for like a brief 2 seconds

Follow these steps please:

  1. Completely quit the game and client, from the system tray as well.
  2. Remove the device from the Geo-Filter
  3. Go to Device Manager and give the device a PlayStation device type.
  4. Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter and choose the manual option
  5. Flush the cloud
  6. Setup your settings with 0 Ping Assist
  7. Wait 2 minutes
  8. Boot up the game

Also suggest using Congestion Control on Always and experimenting with the percentages to see what brings down the ping under load as much as possible.

Me either... Have you done a lookup of that server/ip? I think it's the same one that pops up for me as well. It was associated with a program I had on my PC for my LAN. But, I cannot deny it now. Am i missing something Fraser? Is this maybe a server associated with DUMA or maybe the game I am playing? (COD)?

It's an authentication server required for online play so we have whitelisted it

okay so I just did that and nothing comes up but the same dedi server that's showing in my geo filter screenshot @Netduma Fraser

So when you're actually in a game running around etc that is the only thing that appears?

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Can you start a new topic regarding your question please and include a screenshot of your Benchmark results?

I’m trying to set up my system for me why are you guys talking bout your systems lol...

yes @Netduma Fraser that is the only thing that ever pops up. Nothing else pops up

Could you disable Filtering Mode but so the device is still added, then search for a game does anything show up that doesn't usually?

I disabled filtering mode and again nothing pops up... I actually just factory reset and reset from the back to see if I could get it to function

Open command prompt on your PC and type

ipconfig

then press enter. Look for the IPv4 address that is shown. Then on the Device Manager look for the device that has the same IP. It might be the device you thought was the PC was something else instead. If that is the case you can then add the correct device to the Geo-Filter and it should work.

I’m not too sure whats going on but this is starting to be really frustrating as the icons just briefly pop up, ive reset the r2, my ping is way higher then when I didn't have the netduma... the geo filter does not work and ive already tried all the copy pasted responses.

upon further testing I was unable to get the player icon to pop up again but this is where. I don’t think it was the NY server because my ping was high like 50-73ms... I’m actually in NYC so it should be 19-28ms (at least that’s what I got prior to getting r2)
