💩💩💩
I can turn off WiFi , right?  When I toggle the Switch " Enable 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi " I assume this turns WiFi off? Or did I just turn off dualband with that? In short: Can I turn Wifi off, if so, how? I don't need it, so i want to turn it off  Thank you in advance for your assistance! Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 29, 2020 Administrators Share Posted September 29, 2020 Hey, welcome to the forum! Yes you can turn it off. What device/web browser are you using to try and disable it? It might be that that is preventing it from applying correctly.
TheVisualFeast
I noticed this during some WiFi testing. After turning it off (Chrome), the SSID would still broadcast but not serve DHCP requests. In order to turn it off I had to restart the router after disabling the WiFi in the GUI
💩💩💩
I use Firefox 81 (the latest & greatest).  @TheVisualFeast: That is exactly why I'm asking. I still see the SSID getting broadcasted. I used my phone to check. And to verify that it's not cached, I moved closer to the router, and sure enough, the reception-bars increased. That's why I'm 100% positive, that even though I turned WiFi off in the settings, it's not actually off.
💩💩💩
Solution A reboot of the router fixed it. The WiFi now seems to be completely off, at least the SSID is not broadcasting anymore.  Thank you again @TheVisualFeast - You nailed it!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 29, 2020 Administrators Share Posted September 29, 2020 Well done both for figuring it out. We're doing a lot of work on WiFi at the moment so in the next version that should work correctly.
