XR500 Solid Amber Power Light

Recommended Posts

Tried to reboot xr500 and now i just have a solid amber light, i have tried holding down reset button on back of router and i have also tried doing the following .....https://kb.netgear.com/19841/Reinstall-the-firmware-on-a-router-without-the-setup-CD-recovery-tool

Does this mean the router is now a very sleek paper weight?

How did you try to reboot the router? How long did you hold the reset button down for? - Needs to be about 30 seconds, then wait 1-2 minutes for it to boot. I haven't seen that link before but it's a very old method, try with this method instead as I know it works:

i tried to reboot it using the reboot button on the interface. Waited a few minutes and noticed the amber light was just flashing, waiting another couple of minutes and it was still just flashing with no internet light on.  held down the reset button on back of router for about 30 seconds and no joy. It is well out of warranty as i bought it when they were first released. il give that link a go

Let us know how it goes with TFTP, that usually restores it in a circumstance like this.

Excellent! I'm not sure what firmware you are on but why not go ahead and try the beta? Then do a factory reset.
