Hi everyone just a quick question playing fortnite on my xbox and my ping in game is about 27ms on the the netduma it says 13ms. Also does this on call of duty. Why is there a difference in ping confused thanks for any reply

Good question, the ping from the router is the direct ping to the server/closest hop to the server. The in game ping includes things like processing delay, not all games choose to include it but when they do it shows higher than you would expect. Every game has it and there is no way for us to measure it. The ping direct to the server is what you can control/influence so that's what to focus on. Of course if there is a huge discrepancy then that would indicate that server is under very heavy load and would be best to force another.

Thanks for the reply don't know if I missed understood the answer so if the ping levels out to say 20ms on the duma os and in the game it's about 50ms. Which value is right the duma os or the xbox. 😊

They are both right, the 20ms is the one you can influence so best to focus on that unless the difference is massive in which case would recommend you try forcing a different server.

Another quick question is the duma os ping reading in auto ping is this my ping to the server and in the game ping it's showing the server ping
