the XR500 is about a month old. Done a factory reset anyway and still get around 400-500 wired. will wait for the cable tomorrow and update. appreciate the help so far

Update - i think something was up with virgin when i was doing speedtests. later on the speeds picked up and havent dropped since then. Appreciate the help! :)
