Scepterian
I've searched forums and help and find nothing. I have XR700 V1.0.1.20 and there are devices that I had once clicked "Block" in device manager and then unblock. None of the devices will connect to the internet but show they have an IP address. It's an iPhone, a Windows 10 computer, a Roku and an LG TV. On the computer I get "The device is blocked by access control in the router". I cannot find anywhere to work on access control. Does anyone have an XR700 and know where to go to allow the devices to connect to the internet?
irving
Have you gone to the device panel and unblocked all blocked devices? Reboot the XR700 as well. Also try to update to the Beta firmware 1.0.1.24 seemed to make my XR700 run much faster and fixed my R-Apps that wouldn't work for the life of me. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 12, 2020 Administrators Share Posted August 12, 2020 Hey, welcome to the forum! I see you've posted on the Netgear forum but lets continue here instead for ease. Go to Settings > Content Filtering, have you changed anything in Block Sites & Block Services? Featured Comment Scepterian Posted August 12, 2020 Author Featured Comment Share Posted August 12, 2020 I stumbled across the "solve" on a stroke of luck. There's some coding fixes that needs done for sure. It's some bizarre problem with the Nighthawk iPhone app. On both the web interface and the app the devices show online. Disabling, deleting, etc, doesn't do anything to remediate. Here's what works: Open the iPhone Nighthawk app, disable the device in the iphone app with the toggle, wait a minute, then re-enable the device in the iphone app. It appears to me there must be some messed up backend code where the disable in the iphone app does stop internet access, but it doesn't disable in the router device manager. So there must be some hidden attributes that are set via the iphone app that you can't access via the router web interface.
