I thought i would make a quick post with some information for the sky user in the uk.

I set the router up with my my sky router to start off with but  then found the setting to make it work with my own modem which is a BT Openreach Huawei EchoLife HG612 and netduma R2

0. conect the router to the modem in my case the open reach one

1. since my router was allready setup Its just a matter of going to the network setting menu Which is located on the left side of the UI.

2. clicking on the DHCP setting on the right side under the heading WAN.

3. Toggle the 2 setting for DHCP Identifiers which are Client Identifier ID and Vender Class ID

4. add this code into the Client Identifier ID.                        52616e646f6d7573657240736b7964736c7c70617373776f7264

5. add this to the Vender Class ID                                         6.14.7aNUNIPCBAFAST2504NV1.0

click save network and the router will now conect to sky broadband.

I have included a photo to show the setting and how mine looks.

This has not work for me either

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Are you using the Sky hub and connect to the WiFi of the hub? If so you don't need to follow this guide and you can remove those settings and connect them together and it will work.

Hey,

After I posted this it worked a few minutes later.

I have the phone line to the BT Open Reach Modem.

Ethernet cable from Modem into the R2 internet port.

Then set up as the above post with client identifier etc.

Totally removed the Sky Q hub altogther.

Frazer, the way you have recommended above will that give me better results?

Great to hear that, you've got it setup optimally so no need to do anything else in that regard.
