not that we received many bug fixes in that time, its all hinging on 3.0 fixing every issue now.

Right, I'm kinda surprised this router hasn't gotten as many updates as you'd expect, but it is what it is. Like the entire population of people who bought this router have done, I've applied to join the 3.0 beta but haven't received any emails (not worried about being bumped on the list either). The R7800 which according to various sources on the net, uses the same hardware as the XR500 and has received around 15-20 updates compared to the XR's eh.. 8. Just kinda seems like the XR has been neglected, and that adds some sting ya know?

The R7800 has better WiFi and is supported well by third party firmware like Voxels who really is on the ball and knows what he’s doing. It was NGs gaming router on launch and still has a good following.

Merlin also does some nice stuff too on the Asus routers.great move by Asus to use him.

The thing is the R7800 was pure Netgear and Qualcomm. If Netduma cant update and fix bugs Netgear cant do that for them, its a monstrosity of a router with two lots of firmware and Netgear I feel were left hanging after DumaOS 1.3 was released for a year and a half with no updates from Netduma while Netduma re-wrote their code for 3.0 and didn't patch the bugs and send that patched code to Netgear to update the XR series. That just my view though.

Could you try putting the router in AP mode please? That will disable mostly all the features so would be interesting to see if you get expected speeds that way. If you don't then almost certainly hardware that is the issue and would recommend pursuing a replacement.
