Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 25, 2020 Administrators Share Posted February 25, 2020 A VPN won't help if they already have your IP. Depending on if you have a dynamic or static IP then turning off the modem for 5 minutes may change your IP. What do you mean by your cards are getting hit? Neutrality
if you have a dynamic ip. depending on your set up router/modem combo or modem/router separate. you can try to change your mac address using mac cloning or spoofing. make note of ur current ip before hand. on most netgear routers they have a area called "router mac address" choose "use this mac address". then change one of the numbers and click "apply" then either power off or unplug the power to the modem "not router" for 10 seconds then plug it back in. if done correctly and you have a dynamic ip and a separate setup your ip should change. if you have a router/modem combo then you can try to turn it off for 5 mins and see if it changes. if not then you are likely static and you will have to have your isp change your ip ask them for an external ip change.
