I'm trying to diagnose some disconnects that happened of the course of two days.

First it occurred once and I shrugged it off. But today it happened 3 times in a time span of 3 hours (not actually hourly). 

I can't really explain how I "notice" the disconnect outside of "the internet is gone and comes back a bit later".

We have the router for a bit less than a year now. Maybe 6 Months? And this is the first time it crashed that badly.

I can't see anything specifically in the logs that may have caused this apart from perhaps DHCP lease renewals. Do you notice is happening on all your devices or wired/wireless? How long does it take for the devices to come back online? Have there been any changes to your physical setup or settings changes you don't normally do just before it started happening?

yes, 1 PC is wired and 1 is Wireless, both experience it

How long does it take for the devices to come back online?

Approx 5-6min

Nope nothing of that sorts. I have added a PiHole/Hass.io Raspbery PI in November which wasn't causing any issues - but that was the "newest" change.

So how is the XR500 connected to the internet? Are you using a modem, or is it connected through an ISP router?

Something like this could be caused by the XR500 having to renegotiate its lease with the upstream device.

Could you give the XR a static IP on the Fritzbox please and then mirror that in Internet Setup on the XR router also. Then in Settings > Monitoring > Connection Status click the renew button as well and see if it disconnects from then on.

Attached screenshots of how I've set it up. I had static IP already assigned on the FritzBox, but the change on the XR was not yet made.  

But I can't access Connection Status. It's greyed out and clicking it does nothing. Every other menu works. 

Will keep an eye on disconnects.

So far, I didn't have any disconnects / new leases - but it happened 2h from now  last times - will keep you updated.

 

is it normal I cant access "Settings > Monitoring > Connection Status" though?

Yup, definitely - my ISP is a cable internet provider - i physically couldn't get internet otherwise. I short lan cable to the XR 500 both on "LAN 1" ports (or whatever the Yellow port was called on the XR, sorry forgot the labelling)

Just restarted the router, nothing's changed about the greyed out Menu entry.

I checked the site code in thoughts of finding maybe a weird class / id name - but nothing of sorts.

just the class css that sets the opacity of the text at 0.5 - but still not clickable :( no other entry is greyed out

Ahh I'm being silly! Sorry, as you've changed internet setup to use static instead of dynamic the router itself (not devices) is no longer on a lease which is basically what that page monitors, that is why it is greyed out. Have you had any further disconnections?
