slugg
This is a recent development out of the blue. All of the sudden I cannot log into the router interface for my xr500 from my desktop pc. I have internet access on the same pc and I can log into the the interface from other devices. I have tried 3 different browsers, IE, Firefox and Chrome. No access from any of those and it's as if it didn't even try to connect it errors so fast. I've tried clearing cookies and cache to no avail. Factory reset router to no avail. What should I look at next? Th following is what Firefox returns upon the attempt to connect to the router interface: "Unable to connect Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at 192.168.1.1. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web." Edit: this is via wifi if that matters and the only thing that's changed is I upgraded the wifi Nic but I did have access to the gui after that upgrade I believe but can't say for sure. Reason being I had bought a wifi Nic and it was not good at the range I needed but I know for certain I could access the gui with that one. Anyway I replaced that Nic with a different one which fixed the range speed issue but I am not 100% certain I logged into the gui since I added the last Nic. Thought this extra info my be pertinent. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 25, 2020 Administrators Share Posted January 25, 2020 So just a one PC problem, interesting. How is the PC connected, via ethernet or WiFI? Is it possible you've connected it to your ISP hub by mistake? - Sometimes if the wifi went down for whatever reason it will reconnect to something else. Can you access via routerlogin.net? It's via wifi, cannot access routerlogin.net either. I have no isp hub. Am on spectrum cable but use a my own modem and router. Modem is a Netgear cm600. Also see my edit on op. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 25, 2020 Administrators Share Posted January 25, 2020 It looks like you may have set a static IP address for the PC, if you remove that can you connect to the interface? After doing that you may need to do ipconfig /release & then ipconfig /renew in command prompt to regain a connection.

Yeah that's one of the 1st things I checked but I didn't have a static ip set at this time. I also already tried ip release/renew
slugg
This is what IE says when trying to access it. "Hmmm...can’t reach this page Try this Make sure you’ve got the right web address: http://192.168.1.1" Chrome says: "Your Internet access is blocked Firewall or antivirus software may have blocked the connection. Try: Checking the connection Checking firewall and antivirus configurations Running Windows Network Diagnostics ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED"

I use Nordvpn sometimes and last time I used it I must have accidentally checked invisibility on Lan because unchecking that is what fixed it. The built in troubleshooter led me to the culprit once I dug a little deeper with it.
