António Abreu
I've just upgraded the OS on my R1 from its original 1.03.6j to DumaOS 1.3.29 (using file 'dumaos-2.1.3.29.sig'). At the original version I had setup an administration password with 20 characters... and it was not being accepted in the new DumaOS version. Then I realized that is was being truncated when pasted in the password textbox but not in the retype one (see attached image). The same must also be happening for this forum login, because initially defined a 20-Character password and I was continuously failing to login... until I was locked out, again and again. I had to reduce it to 14-Character (on password reset) so I could finally login. There is no hint of this limitation anywhere: on registration, login or reset. Another thing, related also to setting the administration user/password: The popup at the up-right-hand corner to access the options menu is viewed too short and the options barely appear (see attached screenshot); It should be pulled more to the left, so it can lay totally within the browser window ; I tried with multiple browsers (IE EDGE, Firefox, Safari) and OSs (Win10, macOS) and the result was always the same. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 18, 2019 Administrators Share Posted June 18, 2019 Thanks for this I will let the team know. Have you tried with Chrome as that is our recommended browser, does it appear the same here?
António Abreu
Did not try with Chrome before... do not use it much, so slipped my mind. But tried it now and the issue remains (see attached screenshot). In the meanwhile I figured out what was going wrong with the forum login: The issue is not the size of the password: it can handle 20-Character passwords just fine; The issue was the user name, or sign in name : The sign in popup states 'Display Name or Email Address'; I was using the e-mail address every time and it failed... every time; I used the Display Name instead and it succeeded to sign in. Administrators Netduma Alex Posted June 19, 2019 Administrators Share Posted June 19, 2019 Looks like we need to change the wording there, or fix the problem. Also thanks for letting us know about the options window. I'd noticed this myself but I never thought to bring it up.
