banjo22 Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Hi all, I'm in need of uploading a large amount of data on my laptop to onedrive and the upload speed is currently terrible. What QOS settings should I be altering to ensure my Laptop has priority in this department? On firmware R1 2.1.3.29 and I have 35/6 speeds. Thanks,
pollutionblues Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 Use bandwidth allocation to give your laptop more upload bandwidth. There is info on setting up bandwidth allocation here: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000077073-dumaos-optimal-settings-guide-qos
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 18, 2019 Administrators Posted June 18, 2019 Would suggest the above, if no other devices are using the internet at the time then keep Anti-BB at 100% for upload while you're doing the upload to get max speeds but when other devices start using the internet again drop it back down.
banjo22 Posted June 18, 2019 Author Posted June 18, 2019 Thanks, the reason I asked originally as I allocated 100% to my laptop yet other devices on the network could still surf the internet etc, I would have thought their bandwidth would have been completely restricted?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 18, 2019 Administrators Posted June 18, 2019 That's because you have 'share excess' enabled (default) in Bandwidth Allocation options, if you disable this then it will behave as you thought but we don't generally recommend this.
