sgtmajorsav Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Ok, so my fiance purchased the Netduma for father's day. I really haven't messed with it until a week ago. I followed the tutorial and everything. Oh my setup is netduma directly connected into my modem. I disconnected my other router just because it's easier. so I setup up everything correctly I guess, but in my geo filter it keeps connecting me to some place in Washington, I think Seattle. Even though it's on strict and everything. i'm assuming it's a dedicated server (not sure) Is there like a barney style setup video or instructions? the netduma is for my gaming ONLY. I don't care if anything else gets internet connection. I can always just unplug it and plug in my router for everything else. also I noticed it changed from my NAT being open to strict. I waited and it went back to open. But when i'm looking for a game it lets me in the lobby for 2 seconds (full lobby) then kicks me out. keeps doing it over and over... can't really play now.
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted July 5, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted July 5, 2015 First of all you will probably find it useful to go through this guide (or this one) - it will explain how to open your NAT and some other stuff Can you follow this guide and make sure you have done everything in there so you don't connect to hosts outside of your GeoFilter. If it doesn't work, can you take a screen shot of the top of the GeoFilter page including the very top.

I followed those before when I started having trouble last week, but I went ahead and did them again just in case i missed something. I've done everything and still got a strict NAT. Thats why I decided just to unplug my router and have the netduma directly connected to my modem. I'm not sure why i'm having issues.

Can you check that you have UPnP forwarding enabled in Settings >> UPnP. Also, if your console is a PS3 make sure you have UPnP enabled in the Network settings. Finally can you check that you have UPnP forwarding enabled in Settings >> Miscellaneous

Finally can you check that you have UPnP forwarding enabled in Settings >> Miscellaneous I'm on an xbox one, and yes all those options are checked.
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted July 5, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted July 5, 2015 Is the GeoFilter enabled when you are testing the NAT? And have you removed all port forwarding rules from the Netduma?
sgtmajorsav Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 I just unplugged my regular router and plugged the netduma directly into the router. my NAT is open now. but still not getting the best experience like i was expecting online for advanced warfare. Keep getting outside my geo filter. Gameplay is just like if i was using my regular router hard wired. The I also have a cable connected from netduma to xbox one.
sgtmajorsav Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 Yes the geo filter was disabled. where it showed "enable" and I checked under port forwading rules on my router and netduma and none were there.
sgtmajorsav Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 I'm testing it out right now and I don't know what happened but it's not even showing hosts anymore and no host description.... I have my laptop in front of me so I can check how everything is. not sure what's going on.
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted July 5, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted July 5, 2015 Ok, so that NAT problem is sorted now? So next onto the GeoFilter problem. Did you go through that guide I posted which gave different reasons to why you might be connecting to hosts outside of the GeoFilter? If you have and it hasn't helped can you take a screen shot of the GeoFilter page including the very top please.

Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted July 5, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted July 5, 2015 So when you search for a game, nothing comes up on the GeoFilter? Can you make sure the console is definitely connected to the Netduma.
sgtmajorsav Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 So when you search for a game, nothing comes up on the GeoFilter? Can you make sure the console is definitely connected to the Netduma. Yes it's connected, just rechecked to make sure it wasn't a layer 1 problem. ok I restarted everything. the geofilter is now working, but still connecting over 2,300 miles away. My geo filter is set for 753 miles
sgtmajorsav Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 I was able to play 3 games in a row. but now it keeps kicking me out again every 2 seconds from a lobby. how do i fix this?
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted July 5, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted July 5, 2015 Can you take a screen shot of the GeoFilter when it is connecting to hosts that are outside of its range please. It could be that you are connecting to it though ping assist.

This means it is under the threshold you set so it is possible that it is just mis-located.
sgtmajorsav Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 should i lower my ping? I just want to make sure I wouldn't have connected to that server without the netduma. because it seems like the quality of my online gameplay has not changed as far as lag and bullet detection is concerned.

sgtmajorsav Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 let me do a couple of tests with my regular router vs this one and if I don't really see a difference ill let you guys know but if worse case scenario i'll just sell it on ebay. thanks anyway
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 6, 2015 Administrators Posted July 6, 2015 Please ensure you auto cloud and bleeding edge is ticked in miscellaneous settings. That ping assisted server is under your 50ms limit and so is working correctly. If you like we can arrange a 1 on 1 to ensure your settings are correct.

Yes If I could setup some kind of 1 on 1 that would be fantastic. I'm playing right now, and it took me quite awhile to get the netduma to even let me in a game. I'm trying to see if the gameplay is better at all for me, and for some reason i keep connecting to that same place in seattle every game. I'm thinking it's a ded server, but i'm not sure. if that's the case wouldn't have i connected to that server without this router? i'm just wondering. I really want this router to work for me. plus i'm not seeing a difference in hit detection. people kill me in 2-3 shots and i get hit markers like crazy on them.... is that something that netduma could help with?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 7, 2015 Administrators Posted July 7, 2015 I'll PM you and we can discuss when to do a 1 on 1 and we can see if we can improve your settings
