ChappyHova
Hi, Bought an Xbox One today and having trouble on Pro Clubs on FIFA 19. I'm trying to join a game with the geo-filter enabled but every time it attempts to connect to the US despite being in the UK and then I get "The connection to your opponent has been lost". I read that the FIFA servers might be incorrectly located but even when I put spectator mode on it always connects to the US and the ping can be anywhere from 100ms-180ms leading me to believe it's not actually in Europe. Is there any way to force it to choose a European server?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 29, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 29, 2019 When you allow that server does anything else show up on the map? If so it's like an authentication server and so wouldn't be the game server.
ChappyHova
I don’t think so but I’ll check today! Game had absolutely horrible lag/button delay, everything is just so slow.

If it's happening on Spectating Mode then there's your answer really: Spectating Mode disables filtering of any kind, so any issues with server connections after that are down to the game itself. Why Fifa 19 would connect you to the US over the European servers, I have no idea. This is EA though; their servers leave little to be desired. Reckon you could screenshot what you're seeing when you search for a game? Also when you first boot up the game, do you see servers in Europe on the Geo-Filter? I'll do this tonight, I've tried a few drop in matches which is playing a game with random teams but that always seems to connect to one in Germany with dashes around it? When I click on it, it comes up as a "peer" so I don't know if they work differently to club matches and I can't test unless I have someone else on with me which there will be tonight. But yeah I realise it's like FIFA/EA, I've had problems with this damn game for years, it's kind of embarrassing on their part for such a huge company. I'm just trying to do as much as I can to give me the best chance of at least a few smooth games. If clubs it gives you the option to decide which region you'd like to connect to and whether they are recommended or not, bizarrely it recommends Western Europe and Northern Europe to me and says that British Isles is not recommended! I live in the North East of England! Such a strange game/company. When the game boots up I get this How is this for strange!? I only go my console yesterday and it hadn't been factory reset, so I went ahead and factory reset it today and reinstalled FIFA etc. It's now telling me in my club that the recommended servers are Southern and Eastern Europe! Just a bizarre game.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 30, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2019 Circle with dashes around it means it's been allowed by Ping Assist (it was under your ping limit). It could just be misclassified on the map as a peer rather than a server. If you provide us with its ID from the ping panel we can take a look at it. It actually has a region for British Isles? If so thats quite unusual and would expect it to go for Western Europe. That's really odd not sure why that occurred. What do you have your region set to? You'll need to match it on the Geo-Filter. From the looks of it you should be able to get the German server. Search again after setting region/radius. If US one appears again ping it and provide us with its ID please, then allow it and see if it then gives you a server within your radius or if it becomes the game server.
