Why do you restrict LAN IP space to 192.168.X.X?

Recommended Posts

I use a non-routable class B (172.30.X.X for example) as my local network. Pretty much any other router on the planet lets you set your lan to any non-routable IP space. Is there a particular reason you chose lesser functionality? Is there a way for me to manually change this? I'm perfectly comfortable with router management, like editing config files and whatnot. Any plans for an 'advanced' mode where the user could do this via the UI?

I'll be trying it out behind my existing router via DMZ settings first. Looking forward to using it!
