Last
Hello, What firmware version are you on? 1.03.6g What speeds do you get from multiple speed tests? Hardwired - 400 up/400 down , wireless 30 up/30 down What is your current setup? ISP - R1 What is your specific issue? My wireless internet speeds is significantly less than my wired speeds and I'm not sure how to fix it or what is causing the issue. Can someone please assist? Thanks, Ryan

Thanks, Ryan The R1 only has 2.4GHz wifi so the low wifi speeds are a hardware limitation. if you want higher wifi speeds the best solution is to have another 5GHz router (set in access point mode) connected to the Duma. Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted July 19, 2018 Netduma Staff Share Posted July 19, 2018 Hi, welcome to the forum! Pollutionblues is correct above, though you should be able to hit around 70mbps over WiFi. Are there any physical obstructions between the device you're testing the WiFi on (which should be a PC on Speedtest.net)? Walls etc can affect WiFi performance. Also make sure there's no other wireless devices between the device you're testing on and the Netduma. Are you receiving near your full speeds over a wired connection? Thanks! Last
There were no physical obstructions or other devices on during the test performed. I performed test on speedtest and dslreports. I am receiving near full speed on a wired connection.
fakkel
It also depends on your wifi card that is installed in your laptop or any other device. I always thought the Netduma R1 was lacking speed when it came to Wifi. Then one day a client needed a Wifi USB Dongle so I bought one for him, It needed to be a great one and I had to test because it had to work flawlessly before it would be plugged into his desktop. So I disabled my network adapter (wifi) plugged in the dongle and started downloading trough newsgroup server to compare it. Normally I would download with a maximum speed of 6.0 Mbps so if a file is 60mb that would take 10sec and 2.7 minutes to download 1gig, with the dongle I would suddenly download with 12.4mbps maximum speed through that same Netduma, so after that, I was like wtf and I changed my laptop's wifi/Bluetooth card win, win. If you try speed tests on other devices do the results vary much? Can you get higher on any other devices?
