Durty Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Two nights in a row my router has just randomly reset. This is infuriating. Both times it shut off, I was trying to get the game winning kill in fortnite. Why does a 300 dollar "gaming" router shut off on its own in the middle of a game? Pretty hard to play a game if the router randomly shuts off. Please fix this. If this happens again, I'm returning it.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 4, 2018 Administrators Posted June 4, 2018 Do you mean it factory reset itself or rebooted? How do you know it wasn't just your console/PC disconnecting? Are you using PPPoE?
Durty Posted June 4, 2018 Author Posted June 4, 2018 I do not use PPPoE. The router reset. The internet completely shut off. My settings in my QoS and GeoFilter were all changed. Was there an update?

It does it during the middle of the night to reduce inconvinience of doing it during the day/evening

Auto upgrades are phased over time - if there is a massive issue with the firmware then that prevents every router getting the issue as can pull the firmware.
