Problem with HDMI splitter

Hi everyone,

All is well if I use a Samsung TV, but if I plug in some small computer monitor with DVI-D input, via a connector adapter, I get nothing.  I even tested by plugging the cables directly, without the HDMI splitter, it works fine.

One of the monitors, a Fujitsu-Siemens P15-1, reports "frequency out of range" when the cable comes from the splitter. The other kind of monitors, iiyama ProLite PB1705S, doesn't do anything and goes into stand-by mode.

I wish I could specify the model of HDMI splitter, but it says nothing specific on it. General things like 8-port HDMI Splitter, made in China and there's a barcode label. Power is 12 Volts.

I'm ready to replace it with another one, but how do I know if it will work with my monitors? I can only think of seeking local used ones and trying it out before buying.

It depends on the splitter and wether or not it is compatible with what dvi cable you are using as theres different types of dvi, such as bi-directional (the differing types I do not know much about) so it is possible either the splitter or the dvi cable or not compatible. You have not specified what you are connecting your monitor to! If it is a console you may have a hdmi port on your monitor that can connect to the splitter or directly to the console.

I have a gaming monitor with 2 hdmi and a dvi port, my ps4 pro and xbox 1 x both go into the 2 hdmi ports and my pc goes to my dvi port. I do not use a splitter just so theres less chance of incompatability such as the 1 you are suffering from!

Ow.... Thanks for notice... I forgot this. I use xbox .

So... Do you recommended me to buy another hdmi splitter or look for a person who understands this things more?

you could do with speaking to a specialist and discribe exactly what you are wanting to do. A specialist electronics dealer or computer specialist. So let me get this straight, you are wanting to connect your xobx to your gaming monitor via DVI?

what about this instead?     https://www.amazon.co.uk/Benfei-Adapter-Bidirectional-Converter-Gold-Plated/dp/B01K1PZQTS/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1525966288&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=hdmi+to+dvi+adapter&psc=1

You know, to be honest, I do not know how best to connect them.  I wanted to display an image on two screens. DVI port recommended me, my acquaintance. He also mentioned that the problem can be connected to the splitter. I wrote you here on the forum.

Today I heard a version that the problem may be in the difference of the screen extensions ...

On another forum, I was told that the problem is with the splitter. I now do not know what to do ....

However, I myself tend to the second option. For this, I most likely want to ask for recommendations on a good splitter. <_<

You mean you want 2 separate images from 2 different devices on 2 screens or are you after a split screen such as a dsktop display with 2 monitors?

I strongly suggest you go into a specialist computer store and get advice on what you want to do with your displays as it looks like there are a lot of alternatives for different scenarios. I do not use 2 displays of any kind so I am unable to assist you, but go see a specialist in person.
