theargonaut33
Hi guys. So I tested the VPN out on my XR500 with my phone and have no issues. I did the same for Windows machine but it will not connect. Here is the error: Enter Management Password: Fri Mar 16 13:01:38 2018 WARNING: No server certificate verification method has been enabled. See http://openvpn.net/howto.html#mitmfor more info. Fri Mar 16 13:01:38 2018 OpenSSL: error:140AB18E:SSL routines:SSL_CTX_use_certificate:ca md too weak Fri Mar 16 13:01:38 2018 Cannot load certificate file client.crt I'm guessing I might have to go to Netgear but I thought I would try here first as I'm sure the folks on this forum are a bit more advanced than the first line of Netgear support I might get. Anyone else have this issue? Just to be clear I followed all the steps which are the same as they were with my R7000 but it still does not work. Thanks. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 16, 2018 Administrators Share Posted March 16, 2018 Hi argonaut, I would love to help but I'm not familiar with how Netgear have implemented their VPN solution. I know it applies to all devices connected to the router so I'm surprised it works on your phone but not your PC. I would recommend calling the Netgear support number which you should be able to find here if you login: http://support.netgear.com/calls made from XR500 owners are directed to level 2 support so they definitely should be able to help you resolve the issue
BIG__DOG
just out of curiosity do you have a firewall? If so, disable it and then try to connect via vpn. Do this while vpn is disconnected, once firewall is disabled log into vpn and when it is connected to their server then open a web page and see if it loads without firewall active.....you may have to create an exception in the firewall ruling to allow vpn passthrough.
