Nash
Hi guys, I am having huge lag issue and I am having a hard time lowering my bufferbloat. I mostly play Destiny and my game has been lagging behind a little bit. Hit registration has been all over the place too. I have cable internet from Xfinity (California, USA) My paid internet speed is 250 download and 10 upload but I get around 280 download and 12 upload. My modem is the SB8200 from Arris and it connects directly to the XR500. I tried going back to the R1 to check if I would have the same problem, but the R1 is working fine. A+ for the R1 across the board on Dslreports.com. Simjc was having the same problem that I am having now. Can one of you guys please help?
BIG__DOG
Netduma Fraser made this post on the issue! http://forum.netduma.com/topic/24212-getting-an-a-but-not-an-a-on-dslreports/

Nash
It does a little, but I am still having a hard time setting it up to keep my latency and ping low. On the R1 I use to turn off turbo mode, but on the Xr500 I cannot do that. Would you mind/be able to schedule a remote login and checking my XR500 settings? The rating doesn't mean that it's not working, what's the average ping you're getting as shown by the Geo-Filter? Did you do the PingPlotter test to see if it's keeping your ping stable when the connection is saturated? I can do if we can't sort it out before that
Nash
The Geo filter is not showing a ping on idle. I just downloaded pingplotter and I will try to run a test using Big_Dog's guidelines.

Nash
Using pingplotter, when bufferbloat is set as always, my ping is 15-25ms with bufferbloat off its about the same.
Nash
My connection look congested no matter if bufferbloat is set as always or on never.

Okay so you won't have been saturating the network then otherwise it would have gone up when you set to never but that's a great ping so I don't think you'll be having any issues! Make sure you Anti-BB set to 'Always', 70/70 for both download/upload sliders. Traffic Prioritization has DumaOS Classified Games enabled & remove any manual rules you added. Then on the Geo-Filter use the Destiny profile and you should be all set! As Destiny uses a hybrid system you might be getting some players with bad internet even in your radius so try to block them using deny/allow. Nash
After playing over the weekend, I found that I had to decrease my internet speed to have decent gaming experience. Decrease download speed from 288mb to 200mb Decrease upload speed from 14.12mb to 10mb Then download slider was set at 70% Upload slider was set at 90% 1. Can we re-enable the tick box for super turbo and turbo. 2. Get ping assist back (for destiny it is a must) 3. Some sort of setting profiles for internet speed and setting. Thanks Nash FYI Destiny 2 is in a disappointment state and need dedicated server.

That's great that you found Anti-Bufferbloat settings that work for you, we recommend 70/70 but we also encourage users to experiment to find what works best for their connection. 1. No need for that as the XR500 is hardware accelarated which means it can handle QoS at a gigabit level. 2. Yes that will be something we'll be introducing into a future firmware due to popular demand 3. If you want a mix of speed vs lag killing ability use 'When High Priority Detected' for Anti-Bufferbloat and ensure 'DumaOS Classified Games' is enabled, then it will only apply when you're playing a game. You won't really notice much speed loss for downloads etc only when you do a speed test. Destiny 2 uses a hybrid system so it does user some dedicated servers sometimes.
