redwing497
Hi all. Sorry about all my annoying questions. Had my speed upgraded yesterday. I have the upload dialed in as best I can, but my download bufferbloat constantly spikes and when it doesn't, it's steady at around 25+ Ms, which is too high for me. The lower I set my slider, the worse it gets. But no matter what I have it set to, it spikes to 700+ and back down, then back up again. I'm out of ideas. Since my upgrade yesterday, gaming has been miserable for me. Back to shooting rubber bullets and getting insta-killed with no time to react. Beyond frustrating. Any advice would be appreciated. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 24, 2018 Administrators Share Posted February 24, 2018 Bufferbloat or lag only occurs when your network is saturated & Anti-Bufferbloat does not allow your connection to become saturated so bufferbloat never becomes an issue. Our deep packet inspection also analyses the first few packets of the test which is why you're getting misreadings. What's the average ping of the games you're getting? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 24, 2018 Administrators Share Posted February 24, 2018 When I had geofilter settings activated. It was between 5 and 8 ms You're basically on LAN with that ping, that's insane!! You're not going to get better than that.
redwing497
Yeah, it may be TOO good with the geofilter on. I don't know if this means anything, but when I test on dslreports, my line quality is always a C. Is that rating meaningless? Could I possibly have an ISP issue? I'd follow this guide directly to the modem to see if you have an ISP issue: http://forum.netduma.com/topic/23881-ping-plotter-quick-guide/

redwing497
Fraser, above is a ping plot to Twitter. I'm not exactly sure how to interpret the results. No matter what target I select, there's always an issue between hops 3 and what hop 6 is above.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 24, 2018 Administrators Share Posted February 24, 2018 You want to be looking at the graph not the top bit. It looks great to me, very consistent!
RedBull2k
You could try both "twitter.com" and "www.twitter.com" for me i have different results, and the same goes for "google.com" and "www.google.com"
