magoolachub
Hi, just got done setting up my R1 and everything's working fine but I have a possible security concern that I would like addressed. I have an ADSL connection (thanks australia) and my setup is as follows: Phone Line > Archer D7 modem/router unit > Netduma R1 (assigned as DMZ host in D7 config) > whatever internet using devices Is this usage of the DMZ secure? There are no PoE ports on the D7 so it is connected through a LAN/WAN port. Incidentally I'm very happy with the effectiveness of the R1; I was a bit skeptical due to the high price and relatively low power hardware but after testing with overwatch and other devices using up all available network bandwidth my ping only increased by 5-8ms. Amazing product, thank you so much.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 27, 2017 Administrators Share Posted November 27, 2017 Hey, welcome to the forum! Great to hear you're enjoying the R1. The R1 has a built in firewall so its safe to have it in the DMZ.
