LOVERZROK
Hi there, Is it possible to employ a hardware vpn at the router level, and then access a software vpn - (once connected through the hardware vpn) -effectively running through 2 levels of encryption simultaneously? Will the software vpn (ie work network) have any objection to being routed first through the hardware vpn?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 12, 2017 Administrators Share Posted November 12, 2017 Hey, welcome to the forum! I'm sure it is possible and I don't think you'd have any issues. It seems like overkill though because you'll still only have 1 public IP
BIG__DOG
yes, it is totally possible as I have done it, but as fraser says it is total overkill and no point to it.
LOVERZROK
Ok, I have not purchased a hardware vpn yet, so I am trying this with tunnel bear software. When tunnel bear is engaged + my work vpn is engaged... I am unable to access specific work related web pages. When I disengage tunnel bear, and use solely my work vpn... I CAN access these pages. Any ideas on getting around this?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 13, 2017 Administrators Share Posted November 13, 2017 Are you using the work VPN to connect to a remote desktop/server? If you're using a VPN on top of that I imagine the VPN will be blocking the remote ports needed to allow the work connection.
