CleanSlate Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hP092uuTwk This guy has a trial on G.Fast so lucky but i wonder if pings would be the same what im getting now low pings of 6ms but i heard you have to be closer to the Cabinet. Plus he's using the new openreach modem and there's a new BT Smart Hub X.
CleanSlate Posted November 2, 2017 Author Posted November 2, 2017 I want lol Same here some area's are so lucky to have it. lol
Zennon Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 You would get good speeds from it NFX as you are close to your cabinet. A G.fast pod will be connected to the cab which will enable it to use much higher frequencies allowing wider bands. Just like when ADSL changed to ADSL2 they upped the frequencies. You have to be close to the cabinet as the frequencies get lost over long lengths of copper, vectoring will go somewhat to prevent cross talk.

Nice thanks Zen you the man when it comes to all this technology i think if we see anything from this G.Fast won't be until 2020 but it will be worth the wait. I know there planning something 30mins away from me nothing yet near me yet.
sub91 Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 There's about 30 green cabinet near my house but they put me on cabinet no way near my home
TEH BUTCHER Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Feel so lucky a fiber ISP came through my town, They rent space on the power poles and run fiber to neighborhoods. It's full FTTP and they offer up to 1gb down 300 up to residential.
pollutionblues Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I’d be happy with getting FTTC, I’m still on 8Mbps ADSL just now and with myself, my wife and our 2 sons all being gamers it makes downloading any games or updates a long process. Thank god for the Duma, it’s a godsend for us.
