THE_DEAD_POOL
I have been using the Deny & Allow feature as of late. I have noticed that sometimes it will connect me to a host within the "Deny" zone. Even if I back out of lobbies, later on they may join that lobby and pull host. Even then I would still connect to them. Strict Mode is on. They are within my Geo-Filter. Is this normal, or is there a step that I missed that would prevent this? It does not happen everytime, just curious if this is normal.

Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted September 3, 2017 Netduma Staff Share Posted September 3, 2017 We're aware of this being an issue. I'd love to see this one fixed, and hopefully it'll be easier to iron out bugs like these since DumaOS will be built to be easy to update. I know it's frustrating to be reporting bugs that don't get fixed, but please understand that we're working as hard as we can to make DumaOS as stable as possible. This particular one has been noted, and the Geo-filter is Iain's pet project. He'll be wanting this bug to go away soon, so I'm hopeful that we can get rid of it! For now, you could try blocking the host with your Geo-filter radius and strict mode with Ping Assist on 0.

I had just started testing it out and noticed it wasn't really working. Hopefully this bug can be squashed as well. We're aware of this being an issue. I may have to place the Netduma on the shelf until DumaOS is released. Seem to be encountering a lot of bugs. Most recent one being I cannot send/receive group messages through the Netduma. I believe this is also related to the "Reactive" Algorithm. I first encountered the problem with MMS/Picture messages not sending. Looks like group messages are also tied into that. Will that algorithm be modified with DumaOS?

Will that algorithm be modified with DumaOS? I believe the algorithm will be very different in DumaOS, so I'm hoping some bugs related to sending picture messages will be gone. I believe it's a combination of turbo mode and reactive that causes that particular bug. As I say, it'll be far easier to squash these bugs with DumaOS - the current firmware is essentially quite fragile, which is why we haven't updated it in over a year. Every update causes new bugs on the current UI, which will be mitigated greatly with the new UI. Fingers crossed indeed - we're giving it all we've got!
