strodoggydog
Share excess is enable Ok so with the sliders at 100%, I get 68 down, and 17 up. At 95%, I get 52ish down, and 12 up. Is this to be expected?
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted June 11, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 11, 2015 The pre-emptive algorithm is designed to be conservative, if you want just slider the bars up more if you want a bit more.
strodoggydog
I am using the reactive algorithm - should this not give my higher bws? thanks
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted June 11, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 11, 2015 Oh right make sure in the "Set Bandwdith" you put 68 & 17 then
strodoggydog
I have done this also.
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted June 11, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 11, 2015 Hrm I thought the reactive was more accurate, it could just be overhead of the protocol that speedtest is not measuing, like headers of packets. Worse case scenario just increase your speeds if you want to adjust to exact value.
strodoggydog
Do you mean I should increase speeds in the set bandwidth section? Thanks.
strodoggydog
Plus I am a little confused. Why would speed test measure overhead depending on a router qos setting?
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted June 12, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 12, 2015 Hi Stro I was trying to identify why it was wasn't exactly matching the percentage for reactive it should be pretty close. But at the end of the day its pretty simple if you want a precise bandwidth to just play with the bandwidth & percentage settings. But in terms of gaming that level of precision is not necessary the idea is just to stop queing. So the user if they want to can try find the sweet spot but for most people just dragging it to 70% will be sufficient
