gman013
Hi guys, just of late when I set my R1 up before I start gaming & then start TS3 it connects then disconnects/connects continuously & Steam just won't connect. The only way I can stablise them is to disable the Geo-Filter & untick Strict. Once they are connected & stable I can then switch Geo Filter & Strict back on & all is good. It's no biggy but was just wondering what might be causing it. I'm in the Soth East of England, UK. The TS3 server is in the states & probably Steam is too. Normally Geo filter is set to approx 500km & PA at approx 40/50ms. I'm also on PC. My setup is socket ----> HH5 ---->R1 (in DMZ) ----> PC's, devices etc I did have an OpenReach modem setup but wasn't that impressed with it so swapped it out for the HH5 again with the R1 in a DMZ. Got a 20mbit boost straight away!

Administrators Netduma Iain Posted May 27, 2015 Administrators Share Posted May 27, 2015 Sorry what is TS3 gman? I suspect its blocking the game servers, it depends on if the game is supported. Also have you signed up to our community FFA mate? http://forum.netduma.com/topic/2042-community-ffa/
Buds
Team speak 3 I'd guess? But could be way off
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted May 27, 2015 Administrators Share Posted May 27, 2015 Good guess! If so its because the xbox live is blocking team speak. We could look into bypasses for a PC version if you wanted.
Od1n
TS3 and Steam work for me without issues when playing on PC or Xbox One @ using TS3 for communications geo-filter usually is set to EU only with strict mode being active (the TS3 server is located in the EU though)
gman013
Apologies for not replying, work seems to have a habit of interfering! @Iain - TS3 = TeamSpeak 3 (Comms). @Raddy - I tried a Huawei unlocked modem but it didn't work (wouldn't detect the DSL line) & so got an Openreach ECI modem which did work. When connected through this modem I was just about getting 60mbit down where as with the HH5 I acheive between 70/75mbit down with the upload on both bits of kit being the same at 18mbit up. Buds
The ECI modem can't do GNIP so would've gone to interleaving which would account for the drop in sync speed. The huawei cabs have gone to GNIP so your modem needs to be compatible. I wouldn't worry about the above, no issue if you are ok on HH5.
