New Destiny 2 Servers

Recommended Posts

Hi Team

Just curious to know if the new destiny 2 servers will work with the Netduma? Will it be even better or the same?

I have pasted the link below for your reference. They are doing a Beta soon and would be happy to test new settings if you meed a guinea pig :-)

Cheers

We've invested heavily in new server infrastructure for Destiny 2, including using cloud servers for gameplay for the first time.

This is the part I'm curious about the cloud servers. Be interesting to see how this all comes together.

Hi Azleb. That link isn't working, but yes it's early days - difficult to tell whether the servers will play better with our software or not. The new cloud servers will be very interesting indeed!

Keep an eye out for our open DumaOS Beta; our closed Beta is going very well, so hopefully it won't be long now. Bring on the Destiny 2 Beta!

Link should work now Jack :)

About halfway down they start talking about the server structure, still a bit vague explanation but better than nothing

Your right Frasier. After reading into it again it's that same system. They are just running more on the cloud and internal servers. Hopefully we have less Lag

Physics going to the the cloud should bring more consistency to RoF/RPM lag issues, which should mean everyone can run away faster.  High impact slow firing yet fast hitting scouts for example, shouldn't hit you like an auto rifle.  Destiny's mesh would work brilliant in a LAN setup...  To begin D2 will be less laggy, its after 18 months that the revised cloud system will prove its worth, or not.  If your R1 is set up correct, it should always reduce how bad a lobby of laggers you end up with, everything has its limits though.  If there is only laggers playing, you will see lag but the new cloud physics should prevent them visibly benefiting from it, (just cloaked perks then...).  You could supply powerline adapters with a game, yet there are some that wouldn't use them to try to gain an advantage.  You can't beat a cheat but you can limit how much they effect you with an R1, usually

4's in itself will help stability in PvP.

Sorry but that unfortunately is nonsense Gazz, physics and hitdetection going on a server anywhere? dream on. Bungie will not spend a cent on extra hardware if they can avoid it, and running the central server mechanics of their games on anything else then one of the player's consoles would cost them hugely in hardware and hosting.

They are only going to move the score-tallying to the matchmaking servers to make it harder to perform a dos attack on the one hosting a match by letting 50 friends check the score all the time.

It is very disappointing, but not very unexpected.
