IP address / no connectivity issues

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Right i have been stuck trailing through the internet looking for solutions for this for about 3 days and i cant find anything that seems to help. Current setup as i'm typing this is D-link DLS 320B --> PC. For obvious reason that works fine. As soon as i connect the NetDuma i cant get anything. I can access NetDuma but not The DLink. I have had it working previously and i got home and it just randomly just stopped working. This is the setting i've got set at the minute.

Dlink ip: 192.168.1.1  -->  Netduma ip: 192.168.88.1 --> PC

Subnet: 255.255.255.0

I have got DCHP turned off on the DLINK and on on the NetDuma which provides me with the ip 192.168.88.100. The range is set from 100-200.

The only thing that i can see in the NetDuma when trying to use it is that the WAN IP is 192.168.1.4? I'm not claiming to be any good with IP address but i do get the basics.

Ill happily provide any more info that you need, i just cant seem to get my head around why this isn't working.

The Modem itself is obviously working find as im able to post this and i am getting full speeds with it. Which leads me to believe its a setting somewhere in the NetDuma.

Thanks

Liam

The 192.168.1.4 is fine, thats the IP your Dlink has given the Duma. Access the Duma via WiFi, not ethernet, do you have internet? Can you see the Twitter feed on the homepage?

Nope i havent got anything. Just had another look through the NetDuma and im not getting a WAN IP anymore? Would this be because ive got DCHP turned off?

enable dhcp on d-link and disable all wifi. enable dhcp on netduma and enable wifi on netduma., reboot the d link and wait 2 mins then reboot the netduma and you should have internet.

Yep, that did it. I could have sworn that i had tried that already! Turning DHCP back on. I don't see why it works with it turned on but not if you do it manually! Ahh well! Thank you for your help.

So you did actually set a static IP for it on the Dlink? In that case you would need to set static WAN on the R1
