hoodedpantsman
Hi guys, i have just purchased a Netduma R1 router and i really need some help if possible. I play on FIFA 17 (fut champions mostly) and i'm so sick of the horrible delay and servers i have been trying to improve things from my end, hence this router. This morning i have tried to set up the Netduma but not had much joy. The quick set up instructions are pretty straight forward and i have followed them and got it working but it keeps losing connection and the internet will not stay on for more than a minute or so. I am connecting it via a BT home hub (the router was sent to me in December 2016) so i'm guessing it is the new one. Does anyone know why the Netduma is not functioning properly with my BT home hub? I am not very technical but one thing i did notice was that i managed to configure my BT Hub to have an 'open NAT' as it was moderate before and i read that it is better for this to be open for online games. So it was running on IPv6 and IPv4 also and had an open NAT, when i plugged the Netduma in and connected my XB1 to it before i lost connection again, it said the NAT was strict and i only had IPv4 which i'm guessing is not good. I would have been able to change that in the netduma settings i am thinking if i did not keep getting disconnected. If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. XSXS
Right ok, i have managed to get my Netduma on and working and i have managed to open my 'NAT' also. However on my XB1 it now says i am only using IPv4 and not IPv4 and IPv6 as before with my BT hub, anyone know how to fix this? Did you turn off IPV6 in the netduma settings? Also Chives guide is for single console usage. Looks like you have more than one console you may have better luck using uPnP. It is very difficult to port forward with more than one console. Typically if you want to use port forwarding you would port forward one console and they place the other console in the DMZ. However the Netduma does not have a DMZ feature. Here is an old wiki guide but I am not sure which BT home hub you have: http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=bt_home_hub_5 Also you can try reading through these existing threads to see if can get any ideas. https://www.google.com/search?q=BT+home+hub&oq=BT+home+hub&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#q=BT+home+hub+with+netduma+setup+site:forum.netduma.com Sorry I can be of more help, Modem/router combos I have little experience with since I use cable. Chive972
As he said, you can use upnp if you have multiple consoles. Port forwarding will work with only one console but you can't add new console in the DMZ because those ports are already forwarded with the port forwarding: you can't use both at the same time (this example is for your isp router). hoodedpantsman
Ok thanks. I'm a bit confused now as to whether i will get a better experience on fifa using my BT hub and having my NAT open and using both IPv4 and IPv6 or using my Netduma on IPv4 only.... BIG__DOG
BT does not support IPV6 at the moment although xbox one does, so theres nothing to be concerned about at the moment regarding ipv6.
