Axere
I have been having an issue for a while now in that my Netduma's Wifi only lasts around 20 hours and after that it will not allow any connections and although it displays the SSID upon doing a search no devices are able to connect because it says the password is incorrect despite it being the right one. I normally notice this when I get up in the morning and when I reboot the router everything starts working again and the wifi devices that were disconnected are now able to connect. The problem being is that this has to be done every morning as the wifi and only the wifi stops working at some point during the night but anything connected to the ports on the back of the router still function. I was initially holding off till the new DumaOS drops to see if that fixes the issue but its starting to get a nuisance and I thought maybe there is a way that someone may know of that can schedule a reboot of the router. That means I can get it to reboot when I am asleep every night to save me having to do it myself every morning and it means my devices on wifi are not sitting disconnected for x amount of hours as I do not know the exact time when the wifi stops working. I do know my old Asus router had this feature and it was handy because I could schedule it to reboot every so often but I no longer have this or else I would just set it up so I could use the wifi on that. I have tried doing a factory reset and checking and unchecking the wifi work-around but nothing is fixing the issue. If anyone knows of an easy way to get the router to reboot on a schedule or can come up with something I have not already tried then it would be appreciated. If not maybe it would be a nice feature having some sort of facility for scheduled tasks in the new DumaOS if it doesn't already have it.
e38BimmerFN
What channels is the router using? Any near by Wifi neighbors using same channel? 1, 6, 11 or 13 is recommended if there not busy. WPA2 Personal is best security. If the onboard Wifi radio doesn't seem to work well for you, you can disable it and connect up a LAN wired Access Point as an alternative to the onboard wifi radio. I currently have a AC class unit running connected to my R1.

Axere
I have checked all of those and it still is not able to function past the 20-hour mark. I checked around and there are no devices nearby that can be interfering and when the wifi is up it works great and does so right upto when I goto bed but when I get up the next morning nothing will connect to the wifi until I restart the router and then everything works again until the next morning....rinse and repeat. I thought I would post just in case anyone had any ideas I haven't tried yet or have some way to reboot the router on a schedule. I shall wait and see if the new DumaOS fixes the wifi issue but it may just be faulty so I shall wait and see and then decide the plan of action thereafter. Thanks for the responses. PharmDawgg
I would not recommend this to everyone because some ISPs respond differently (negatively) when you are constantly rebooting your modem. But I have cable and reset my network each night at about 5:00am with this device. http://www.netreset.com This is not a sales post!!! Just an FYI of what I use. I don't even use the wifi on the R1 because I need the 5ghz band. So I have a router setup as an access point connected to the R1 for just that reason. But I would still recommend finding out what is causing the issues though. If I come up with any other suggestions I'll let you know.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 5, 2017 Administrators Share Posted February 5, 2017 It is very strange that is seems to happen around the same time every night. Given it's so consistent leads me to believe it's not a fault but rather something is causing it. It may be hard to tell, perhaps your ISP hub has a log but can you see if your hub is dropping internet during the night?

Given it's so consistent leads me to believe it's not a fault but rather something is causing it. It may be hard to tell, perhaps your ISP hub has a log but can you see if your hub is dropping internet during the night? In due fashion the router is proving me to be a liar as it was stable this morning and no need to reboot it at all. All I have done differently was to check and then uncheck the wifi workaround setting just in case something caused its setting to get screwed up. I do not know how that worked but the wifi seems to be stable but I will know more tomorrow when I get up. The only other thing I can think of is I recently moved from the UK to the US and I am using one of those UK to US plug converters but I doubt that would just effect the wifi if there were any issues with it. I have checked the log on the cable hub and the internet is not losing connection either, but as I said it appears the wifi has resolved itself.
