Tivosaurus_rex
I got my Netduma in November 2016. Love it! I've been recommending it to everyone! At first, it was running smooth. Didn't really have a problem but once in a while playing Infinite Warfare, I would get disconnected from XBOX Live. Completely disconnected... it would sign me out of my profile and say something like "You need to have a valid internet connection to connect to XBOX Live". It usually came back up 10 - 20 seconds later without me having to do anything. It's just annoying but whatever I could live with it.But lately, this has been happening many times in a row. I need to reboot the router through the GUI. Sometimes the reboot works, other times I still get disconnected 3 to 5 times in a row.My XBOX is wired to the router. All other devices are using Wifi. I don't believe it's my ISP since I never had this problem with my old router (by old I mean 2006 router). Is this a known issue? Anything I can do? Thanks! ColonicBoom
Try swapping out the ethernet cables. Make sure they are seated (clicked in) properly. If that doesn't resolve it then run Ping Plotter on your line and it will record the dropouts. Run it from the ISP hub/modem, over ethernet, and it will tell you if it's the ISP line dropping. As far as I'm aware, this is not a known issue.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 17, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 17, 2017 Hey, welcome to the forum! Do you notice if the drops occur on your wireless devices as well or does it just appear to be wired? Set a static IP for your console in DHCP lease, does that resolve the issue? Would also be good if you could do the above also.
Tivosaurus_rex
Thanks for the fast responses.Fraser, it's already with a static IP. I will have to check for the wireless drop also when it happens again. I don't believe the wireless goes down since I work at home all day and never disconnect. Seems to be the wired only. As ColonicBoom suggested, it might be the wires or even my XBOX Ethernet port.ColonicBoom, when you talk about the pingplotter, are you talking about this: https://www.pingplotter.com/download/You suggest I plug my computer directly in the modem and run that application? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 17, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 17, 2017 Okay keep us updated on the wireless/if changing cables out resolves the issue. Yes that is the program, and yes direct to modem.
