Device names

Hey guys, probably a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway.  I spent some time going through the device manager and renaming all of my devices, then this afternoon my internet dropped out.  I turned everything off at the mains and lo and behold the internet works again.  Just realised though that all of my device names have vanished.  Will this happen every time the router is unplugged ?  Does it make any difference if you save a profile after you've renamed the devices ?

Name your devices and make any changes you want to save, reboot from the settings>misc menu so it saves your changes, then you can unplug to your hearts content.
