ZEDZER0
Hello Recently in crucible I seem to be getting matched against players well out of my filter range. I'm in the UK and regularly find players from US in the lobby, clearly the connections are not ideal for me or them. This afternoon most of the players where US based even after leaving the lobby I could be matched back in with 1or 2 of the same players. Feels like my home position is no longer home. I'd appreciate if someone could help me understand what's going on or is it just destiny match making now.
frustrated
Hi, do you have geo on strict unticked, the normal set up, as yes i do get Usa and Saudi Arabia but generally its all Europe, whats your radius mine like 750 very small, or the only thing I can think of less people playing so your forced to the USA to get a match. ZEDZER0
Yes strict is unchecked I have a 850 filter distance applied. It seem almost every game now has players out with filter distance that don't show up as red circle host but show on the geo as a flashing yellow out of filter distance triangle throughout the game. Is this because the game is being played on a server not P2P. I feel the Duma is limited in what it can do on destiny now. Perhaps you're right its lack of players. I mostly play 3v3 finding 5 players within the filter distance shouldn't be too difficult for the game. Its difficult to identify who is actually host. The host circles are mainly displayed over the same place Ireland or in Germany which I presume are destiny servers because there so constant on the map. Have things moved to more server based games or is the Duma and destiny pushing me on to server games due to player count. I don't really understand what I'm seeing the Duma should be filtering my games within the radius. I'd appreciate some understanding on this. Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted November 9, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted November 9, 2016 Hey, welcome to the forum! First off we'd recommend using the Destiny profile, though it seems like you understand the settings. Players outside your radius, however, are perfectly normal. The Geofilter is only filtering hosts, not the players connecting to the game host. We can't filter out all of those players - no matter how far away they are - since that would be cheating, and ultimately ruining the gaming experience for anyone without a Netduma. Players can connect to your host, no matter where they are; but the host you are connected to will be the best possible host. Unfortunately the connection of other players to that host can affect your experience, but it would be much worse without a Netduma. Also, if you keep strict mode on, you'll never connect to people outside the radius; that's the function of strict mode, but we recommend always leaving it turned off for Destiny due to how their servers work. As for identifying who the host is, the host is always the largest circle on the map; though with our new interface update, DumaOS, which we're releasing soon, the host will be much easier to identify.
