Alright after calling TWC and getting nowhere, then chatting online and emailing and getting a return call from TWC.

They finally pushed the latest firmware 9.1.93N to my modem.

It was on 9.1.93K which had huge latency and ping spikes.

I would test it with pingplotter and it would average 10-14ms and now it is 1ms.

So if you have this cable modem and are still on 9.1.93K just call and tell them the differences between the firmwares.

This also removed the reboot and factory reset options in the configuration page.

Now onto testing it all out now.

Fantastic to hear that! Though odd they would remove reboot/reset.

The reason they removed those options was because the GUI didnt have a way to password protect it.

So it was easy to DOS these modems.

Im sure that makes sense to them haha, why not just add password protection?

I know right? You know what would be awesome if somehow netduma can have a way to see our modems GUI through the netduma.

Possibly offering a way to password protect the modems GUI through netduma.

Like blocking the ip to it until we enter the pw in the netduma to get to the modems gui?

Interesting idea, though just by trying to access that interface standalone you would still have the same issue, especially if it was accessed using the exploit MoD mentioned.

Surely password protection would be a better idea though?

That would make sense since almost every router with settings has a password protection, even if it's just a default username/password

P.S. http://forum.netduma.com/topic/18828-vpn-easy-working-with-netduma/

He needs some help, it keeps saying cannot connect to router or something

I have a arris sb6141 and I have comcast. My ping sucks. Is there a possible firmware update think my modem needs?

Nah Comcast is good with pushing out updates. I have the same modem

You just have look up what the latest firmware is for that modem and see if it matches in the diagnostic page of the modem.

Alright just felt like posting these results up real quick.

My OCD has me always trying to perfect the line coming into my house.

I got rid of 3ft of extra coaxial cable coming from the coaxial plate on the wall.

So I lowered the modem to where the plate is, since the cable is really short now.

So last time I did this to where the coaxial cable drops to my house.

The I noticed some changes in the amount of correctables and uncorrectables.

Still had high number of uncorrectables after that but now that I removed the extention at the plate.

The modem has been up for 5 days since last reboot and usually the uncorrectables would show up within 24 hours.
