ezzzekiel
Had a bit of a tough time with it over last few days of trying, Wifi dropping out/ nat type changing to moderate etc etc Seem to have got around most of my initial problems but would like some clarification on a few points if poss? 1. Getting a lot of yellow/red bars from other players in games 2. Netduma ping set at 40 but seeing regular spikes upto 60ms 3. Still getting sharp burst of lag now then, although a definite improvement is visible Just checking to see if im set up wrong or if this is normal On another note my isp is sse with 60down 20up and a technicolor modem/router which i cant seem to switch to modem only mode, any ideas? Still early days so any further input/ideas appreciated Thnks
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 4, 2016 Administrators Share Posted October 4, 2016 WiFi drops NAT Are you playing Destiny or know if you're playing P2P? If not then I wouldn't worry too much about it, you will have the advantage connecting to the dedicated server faster. Ping assist applies to outside your radius. If it detects a host/server under this limit it will allow it through. It cannot tell how spiky the game will be beforehand and you could still get a game within the radius higher than this limit. Recommend strict on, PA 0, ~1000km radius ALL devices should be connected to the R1. Wired connection. 70/70 anti-flood, console in hyper traffic. If you're unable to switch it to modem mode put the R1 in it's DMZ and disable the WiFi on it to prevent other devices connecting automatically to it and preventing CC from working correctly. ezzzekiel
Play only cod (bo3) All devices on my network are wireless except the xbox I already turned off wifi on my isp router (wich seemed to fix the r1 from dropping the connection) I take it i put the ip for the r1 into the dmz on isp (will this make the r1 secure still?) Have def seen an improvement in game, ran into trouble as i purchased a xboxone s and swapped consoles so things got a little messed up but sorted that now. Thnx for reply will try the dmz option From what i remember the dmz is a demillitarized zone? Which puts all connections open, would this matter ? If none of what i just said makes sense ignore it and ill do some more reading
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted October 4, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted October 4, 2016 DMZ mode will allow the R1 to handle all routing and not have any port issues, hence why it can give an open NAT. It is secure as the R1 has it's own built in firewall. Did you follow the links Fraser added at the top of his post? They'll help you out with a couple of your issues; you could potentially try the COD Ultimate profile as well. Glad to hear you've seen an improvement, let us know if you need more help

That is fine. It is not an issue, it's just telling you that you're connected behind a router. Also provides an easy button to access that interface.
